When our electricians complete any electrical work in your home, we issue you with an installation certification to confirm the installation meets BS7671 requirements. For safety reasons, we can only add or alter your existing electrics if they are in good condition.

Fault Finding

On occasions where your electrics are faulty, you will require experienced electricians to carry out fault finding and give advice. Our NICEIC electricians can carry out a diagnosis and find the faults that may be causing your electrics to operate incorrectly. Our experienced electricians use equipment to trace electrical faults quickly and get the power back to your home. Once the engineer has carried out the inspection, they will provide a report detailing any faults and recommendations for remedial works. We offer a fixed hourly rate for all fault findings, which are detailed below.

Electrical Health Check

If you have concerns over the safety of your electrics and lighting, we offer a free visual check which is done remotely. If you would prefer an electrician to come to your home and carry out a more thorough check, we can provide this at a fixed cost. Our qualified electrician will open up your fusebox and some of the switches and sockets throughout your home. A reliable electrician will carry out some basic tests and then put together a small report detailing the condition and age of your wiring. This will also include the likelihood of when it may need to be rewired and any recommended upgrades that can be done to improve the system.

Fuse Box Replacement

Our efficient team can also assist with a fuse board replacement, a great option for landlords. Generally, if your fuse box is older than 30 years, it’s time for an upgrade. This is especially important if you are renovating or adding improvements like electric heating, a home extension, or a loft conversion. All additional wiring and new circuits will require additional circuit breakers and electrical installations. When replacing your fuse box, we will ensure this is done with safety and tidiness in mind, with minimal disruption to your day.

Jamie got me fitted in at very short notice, the job was started within a week of agreeing to go ahead, everything that I asked for was carried out including some extras that weren't originally quoted for, the plaster repairs being sorted saved a lot of additional work after everything was completed. Most rooms required movement of the existing sockets and switches as they were mounted on the woodwork, I was impressed they managed to carry out the work within the 3 days as the walls needed chased out etc being an older property. Grant gave a great video after the work was completed, explaining everything had been done. All in all a very professional experience.

Professionally managed by Jim, the electricians Zach, Craig and Joe provided the highest standard of work in just over 24 hours to completely rewire ans plaster my new home over 3 floors. Mark and Gary did a really terrific job rewiring my 1930s bungalow (which had frankly ancient wiring and a bunch of janky ceramic fuse boxes from the olden days). The whole project was done amazingly fast (two days) and to a very high standard. The guys were professional and to the point about how it would be done and what couldn’t be done which I really appreciated. If you are thinking about getting a rewire done I can fully recommend Homerewire Scotland- and my number one tip is to you is to do a good thorough job on the preparations so the guys can get your place done efficiently and hand it back to you on time!

From my initial contact with HomeRewire with Theresa and Jamie coming out to do the survey everything went great. They provide loads of guidance on how to prepare and also links to different contractors such as cleaning etc.Jamie was able to fit me in the week after the survey and Grant, Ryan & Joe did an amazing job fitting the new system, answering all my questions and also my last minute additions on the final day (which was an oversight on my part).Thanks again to HomeRewire, they really took the stress out of what was a tough job and completed within 2.5 days!

Jamie and his team at Home Rewire Scotland did an excellent job when rewiring our house in Edinburgh. It was a complicated job but they completed everything on time and communicated throughout to solve any issues that arose. The team were friendly and very efficient. From first contact with Jamie, everything was explained with regards to what was included and what to expect.The week leading up to the rewire, i had several message prompts, to get things ready for the morning of the rewire, again everything explained in the check list provided.Had a walk round the house with Ryan on the morning, nothing was too much trouble, great experience for us !! Home rewire did a total house rewire for me this month. I felt so overwhelmed by the whole thing and was dreading coming home as it was so much upheaval.The guys did an amazing job, even though we had some issues with a miscommunication with another business at the same time. The guys must have battered through the work and it was complete in two days.The standard of work is way above my expectations, it’s neat, the plasterer even matched the existing plaster work that I had (artex, which I hate but can just paint over for now and you’d never know any work had been done). They even did a clean up at the end and mopped the floors!I’m delighted with the work done and the work ethic of these guys. Snagging list was completed quickly after Jim came to do a walk round. Very respectful of the property and they didn’t even eat all the biscuits I left them!Excellent work. 👍

Jamie managed to fit me in at short notice . They did the full house rewire in 2 days. I was, given so much information of what was involved and what was required before the day of the rewire. The work exceeded my expectations. We had large eyeball lights in the kitchen that were so old they are obsolete.The team managed to put up new lights and plaster the holes of the old ones which to be honest I wasn't expecting (see image attached) . The team cleaned up very well which I really appreciated. There is going to be dust and you will need to redecorate your full house but to be honest to have all the lights and sockets that I need more than makes up for the upheaval and hard work painting and papering. The price I paid was, similar to other, quotes but felt workmanship and communication throughout the process was 2nd to none. I am extremely happy and glad I used this company.
