About the project
We recently completed a full electrical rewire on this beautiful 4-bedroom detached property in Callander, finishing the entire job in just 3 days. With the property occupied throughout, our team worked carefully and efficiently to minimise disruption while delivering a complete, high-quality rewire from start to finish.
The Challenge
One of the key considerations on this project was the customer’s wish to preserve the original wallpaper throughout the hallway and upstairs. This meant planning some particularly creative cable routes — working around the decor rather than through it. We lifted carpets, notched joists, and made the most of the lath and plaster construction wherever possible, keeping surface damage to an absolute minimum throughout.
The Installations
Across the property, we installed new sockets, switches, and lighting circuits throughout, including:
- Five wall lights in the living room
- Two pendant lights in the kitchen with under-unit lighting retained
- Dedicated circuits for two electric showers
- An external switch for the outdoor lights
- A full bank of switches for heating and white goods in the utility area
The Consumer Unit
For the consumer unit, we installed a Hager 18-way board with full SPD protection and individual circuit protection on every circuit — meaning no single fault can knock out multiple circuits at once. The board was tested and certified on day one, giving the customer a first-day certification valid for insurance purposes and any future plans for the property.
The Finish
By the final day, all plasterwork had been made good, carpets were relaid, and the property was ready for the customer to move straight back in and begin decorating. A clean, safe, and fully certified rewire — completed on time and with care.
