We recently completed a full electrical rewire on this stunning B-listed, six-bedroom duplex in Dowanhill, in the heart of Glasgow’s West End. Dating back to the early 1900s, this beautiful period property spans over 2,500 square feet across two levels, featuring a grand reception hall, an elegant drawing room, and spacious bedrooms throughout.
The Challenge
Rewiring a historic home of this scale is no small undertaking. The property is rich with period features — intricate cornicing, high skirting boards, and original wood panelling — all of which needed to be carefully protected throughout the process. Integrating a fully modern electrical system into a structure that was never designed for one, while preserving every original detail, required meticulous planning at every stage.
