We were recently called to work on a truly remarkable property in the picturesque town of Crieff — a category B-listed Gothic villa dating back to the 1800s. The Challenge
When the current owners purchased the property, they knew internal renovations would be needed. What they didn’t anticipate was the true extent of the electrical work required. Upon inspection, it became clear that parts of the system were nearly 100 years old and dangerously outdated. The challenge wasn’t simply upgrading the electrics — it was doing so without compromising the historical integrity of a building where every wall, ceiling, and fixture holds heritage value.
How We Approached It
For a project of this complexity, we assigned a specialist team of four electricians with experience in listed buildings and period property rewiring. Every cable route was planned with precision, working carefully around decades of structural settling, original beams, and the villa’s unique Gothic architecture. By day two, our plasterers were already on site, sympathetically restoring every area affected by the rewiring as the work progressed.
